Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain, who took home gold in the year 2012. She's won six Olympic medals overall she was also a part of two gold-medal winning World Championships teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's love for the sport can be traced back to her first "mommy and me" gymnastics lesson she took at the age of 18 months. Aly Raisman is a proponent of body positivity, an exemplary leader on and off-the-floor and spoke about Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. She was born in 1994. Aly Raisman started gymnastics from a young age, and was a part of the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. In 2012, she won two gold medals during the London Olympics the first in the team competition and the other in individual floor exercises, as well as a bronze on the beam. Raisman returned to the Olympics twice in Rio in the year 2016, securing two silvers, one in each of the all-around as well as floor exercises, and the other in the gymnastics women's competition. Raisman revealed in 2017 that she was abused sexually by her former team physician Larry Nassar. The following year, she brought suit against USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
